ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has banned incoming flights to Pakistan from 22 countries, including on charter and private aircrafts, with effect from April 6 until April 20, Pakistani media reported on Monday. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) airlines will continue to fly fewer flights to Pakistan in line with the latest travel directives from the country. The United Arab Emirates might be resuming flights to and from Pakistan from July 7. The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority ( NCEMA ) announced on Monday the suspension of entry for travellers from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka on national and foreign flights, from 11:59 pm on Wednesday, May 12 to the UAE. The Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-218 from Abu Dhabi landed at Peshawar's Bacha Khan International Airport with 128 passengers on board. The UAE’s suspension comes just days after an initial report on Pakistan International Airlines flight 8303 was released.As the report was presented, Pakistan’s civil aviation authority revealed that as many as 40% of Pakistan’s pilots are unqualified to be flying commercially, many of them cheating on exams to receive their licenses. The outbound flights from Pakistan to the UAE have been suspended since May 12.
